| Leonard Dickerson ... is a National Master at Chess and three-time champion of Tennessee. (He placed second several times, including 2000.) He is also Treasurer of the Tennessee Chess Association (7 years) and President of the Greater Knoxville Chess Club (12 years). He has won numerous local and regional tournaments and prizes. A professional chemical engineer, his avocation is teaching chess to children. He has developed scholastic chess programs, given private lessons, and coached children in local school systems for over 20 years. He has seen how helpful chess can be for the overall development of childrens' concentration, mental abilities, and confidence. Hence, he wishes to share his knowledge with a broader audience in hopes that all children (and adults!) will be able to reap the many positive benefits of chess. |
