Sprenkle Simultaneous Exhibition

On August 26, 1998, the Greater Knoxville Chess Club featured a fund-raising simultaneous chess exhibition by Master David Sprenkle.  He was challenged by 12 opponents, two of whom played him twice.  He had white in all games.

In all, Sprenkle played 14 games.  He won 10, drew 2, and lost 2.  Opponents he defeated include Russell Linnemann, Eric Vaughan, Haresh Mirani, Phil Rogers, Casey Donegan, Pia Ferraro, Dan Dakus (twice), Patrick Parker (twice).  He drew games with Leonard Dickerson and Brian McDaniel and lost games Jesse Morton and to the team of Nick Barber and Jon Alexander.

The exhibition lasted about 2 1/2 hours.  Dr. Sprenkle's efforts raised $25 for the Club.  Thanks to everyone who participated and, of course, to Dr. Sprenkle.
